Fairfield University is proud to be affiliated with NEACURH.
NEACURH is the North East Affiliate of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, better known as NACURH. NACURH is considered to be the largest student run organization in the world. It is completely student run, in all of the national and regional positions. It brings together over 400 schools from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Australia. NACURH promotes living on campus as an integral part of the college experience, and strives to provide resources to help member schools create the ultimate residence hall environment and experience.
NEACURH currently represents approximately 45 member schools, and we're always looking to welcome new ones! As an organization, we focus on 4 major areas: Programming, Leadership, Recognition, and Communication. One of the ways these goals are met is through our conferences. Almost all of the programs at our conferences are prepared and presented by students! This in itself serves two functions: the students who prepare the programs gain experience in public speaking, and also become experts in what they present. The students who attend programs benefit from the information provided to them and get to bring back what they learn to their home campuses. These programs vary widely in topic, covering student leadership, programming suggestions, and personal development, among many others. Also, every conference is hosted and planned by NEACURH member school, providing those students with a rewarding and challenging leadership opportunity.
