IRHA is a student sponsored organization that is designed to improve all aspects of on-campus living. The members of this government represent all undergraduate resident students to the administration, the Jesuits, faculty, staff, and Trustees of Fairfield University. IRHA unites all the campus residence halls, townhouses, and apartments and works to promote the general welfare of residential living through the development and improvement of the physical and social environment in each community.
Both the Residential Community Councils and Executive Board make up the General Assembly, the governing branch of IRHA. The General Assembly (GA) meets weekly to discuss issues related to the individual residential communities as well as items that are affecting residence life campus wide. This group also meets to discuss the ways in which positive, healthy communities can be built and maintained. The GA is also charged with planning events for the residents to enjoy.
